MY INTRAMURALS EXPERIENCE
The first thing that comes to mind when you hear the word “Intramurals” is sport. Sport has always been valuable to society as it promotes healthy habits, fitness, and reduces health risk. In Intramurals, it welcomes students of all skill levels and lets students participate if they want to. It promotes fun, learning new skills, enhancing teamwork, and allows them to build connections/friendships with their peers. Therefore, Intramurals is an event that is fun yet educational. When I was in middle school, I wasn’t really interested in joining the games. Now that I’m in high school, I learned so many things about sports, mind games, and made so many friends. I participated in 3 games/events. I participated in chess, it was truly nerve-wracking and fun. Second was volleyball. Throughout the game, I felt guilty since I didn’t know how to play. Although I was a nervous-wreck, my teammates were really good at playing and were understanding of me whenever I missed. Third and last was the Dance Palabas. Our theme was Rio and it was an enjoyable experience. All of the sweat and hard work actually paid off, since we won! I learned so many things, especially the rules of Basketball.
In conclusion, Intramurals are an important event to every school. It creates new memories, allows students to make new friends and enjoy. It also teaches the students to engage in healthy competitions and develop new skills. Intramurals aren't only beneficial to our physical health, but our mental health too. So I encourage you to join the Intramurals, Fly High Asianistas!
